Pattern
The cardigan is worked top-down in st st. The double-folded button band is worked first and serves as the starting point for the project. Sts are then picked up along the entire button band and divided into fronts, back, and shoulder sts. Increases are worked on both RS and WS, with 4 increases per rnd—before and after the 6 shoulder sts. In other words, you inc both before and after the shoulder sts. Increases are also made to create puff sleeves. Once the puff sleeves are shaped, classic raglan increases are used. The body is finished with a folded hem. From start to finish, the button band is worked as a double-folded edge. The sleeves are finished with an i-cord edge.
This pattern is quite detailed, and some prefer to read through the entire pattern before starting. Feel free to do that—but my best advice is to follow the pattern paragraph by paragraph, sentence by sentence, and suddenly, you'll be done!

It is recommended to knit a swatch before beginning, to ensure your gauge matches. Note that the given gauge is measured after the cardigan has been rinsed.
