THE PATTERN
The Milly Tee is a versatile summer top that is knitted from the top-down, ideal for warm days. It is constructed in stockinette stitch with puff sleeves and finished with i-cord edges on both the body and sleeves, creating a clean and elegant look.
Increases are worked on both the right side and wrong side of the shoulder stitches to shape the neckline and shoulders evenly. Additionally, raglan increases are used for both the sleeves and body, ensuring a comfortable and flexible fit. Finally, an i-cord drawstring is threaded through the double neckline, providing a delicate appearance while allowing for easy adjustment.
The Milly Tee is not only a stylish addition to your wardrobe but also a highly practical garment that can be worn in various ways, depending on your mood and the occasion. With its modern design and airy fit, this piece is perfect for sunny days and warm nights.
I recommend trying on the top during the knitting process. Also, take note of how your swatch changes before and after blocking. This way, you can knit the perfect garment for your body.
The pattern is lengthy. Some people prefer to read the entire pattern before starting. Feel free to do so, but my biggest recommendation is to read this pattern section by section, sentence by sentence, and voilà, you’ll be all set!
Size guide
A chest measurement of approximately 85 (90) 95 (100) 110 (120) cm corresponds to sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL). The blouse has a negative ease of about 2 - 4 cm. This means that if your chest measurement is around 90 cm, you should knit a size S. I measure 93 cm in the bust and have knitted a size S. Measure yourself before you start knitting to determine your desired bust circumference.
The specified bust measurement is before the blouse is worn. It will adapt to your body without compromising the overall look. After washing, the blouse will “shrink” back and approach the measurements provided in the pattern. The length will remain relatively constant. The sizes correspond to standard European sizes.
Feel free to knit a swatch before you begin to ensure that your gauge matches. Note that the gauge is given after blocking the top.
