 The model in the picture is knitted in Arwetta color 251 and Paia color 703.

 This hat is knitted from the bottom up. You can cast on with Italian cast on (tutorial) to get an extra elastic rib. When the rib is knitted, follow the diagram and then decrease evenly, in a total of four places on the round. The hat is knitted in a single strand of thin merino wool or other yarn that has the same knitting tension. When the hat is finished knitting, sew a contrasting color to the diagram with a stitch stitch. This is a tight-fitting hat, so it fits nicely under the helmet. You can knit a sample before you start.
